The view from Alpenrose's dining & living of the Dolomites and the South Tyrolean mountains gives you a glimpse of the wide variety of activities offered year-round during an active holiday in South Tyrol: in the warm season, the best way to spend your days is hiking and biking in the mountains, while the evening offers numerous opportunities for entertainment. When it gets colder, head up to our local mountain, the Plose, for skiing and tobogganing, and visit the charming Christmas market in the evening. And then there are spring and autumn, which enchant with either the apple blossom or culinary highlights like Törggelen and colorful forests. Families with children, in particular, will truly get their money's worth.

SPRING IN SOUTH TYROL

HOLIDAYS IN MARCH, APRIL, MAY

The range of spring activities in South Tyrol is extremely varied and ideal for a holiday in March, April, and May. Until the early afternoon, you can still enjoy the snowy slopes of the Plose ski resort, and in the afternoon, go for a stroll or a hike in the gentle, warm rays of the sun. And when the valley is transformed into a pink and white sea of blossoms, it’s time once again for the famous Apple Blossom Festival in the apple village of Natz.

SUMMER IN SOUTH TYROL

FANTASTIC TRAILS AND LEISURELY CYCLE PATHS

In addition to the Eisack Valley Cycle Trail, which allows you to ride as far as Bolzano or into the Puster Valley to join the Puster Valley Cycle Trail, the Brixen Bike Park on the Plose attracts all enthusiastic mountain bikers, downhillers, and freeriders. You can let off steam on four different lines with varying levels of difficulty. For those who prefer to ride away from "fenced-in" trails, we recommend a tour to the many picturesque alpine pastures and mountain huts, or to the nearby Pfeffersberg, the Villanderer Berg, or into the Sarntal Alps.

HIKING HIGH ABOVE BRIXEN

Anyone yearning for a hiking holiday in the Dolomites has come to the right place! It is not for nothing that the Eisack Valley and its main town, Brixen, are known as South Tyrol’s “valley of the thousand ways.” The possibilities for unforgettable hikes against breathtaking mountain backdrops are almost limitless. Whether you are looking for challenging summit tours or leisurely pleasure hikes – you can start your mountain adventure directly from Alpenrose's!

AUTUMN IN SOUTH TYROL

TÖRGGELEN AND THE CHESTNUT TRAIL

Törggelen – this popular South Tyrolean tradition has its origins in the Eisack Valley. It is well worth experiencing! Cozy and convivial togetherness at alpine huts, farmhouse inns (Buschenschank), or restaurants, with South Tyrolean specialties such as speck, smoked sausages, horseradish, potato fritters (Kartoffelplattln), sauerkraut, Schlutzkrapfen, dumplings, smoked meat, and homemade sausages, good wine and grape juice, sweet krapfen, and, of course: roasted chestnuts.

Speaking of which: our holiday apartments are situated directly on the Chestnut Trail (Kastanienweg), which leads to Neustift or Feldthurns and even further to the Ritten high plateau. A wonderful autumn hike through colorful forests, peaceful chestnut groves, and green vineyards.

WINTER IN SOUTH TYROL

WINTER HOLIDAY IN THE EISACK VALLEY

During the snowy season, a holiday at Alpenrose's is the perfect prerequisite for an active winter holiday in Brixen! Skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing on perfectly groomed slopes and trails, tobogganing, ice skating, ski touring, or winter hiking and snowshoeing right outside your front door – the range of leisure activities in and around Brixen is so varied that there is certainly no room for boredom. Once back from your excursion, pure relaxation is on the agenda in your holiday apartment with sauna. Look forward to a few wonderful winter days, designed exactly according to your wishes!

A VISIT TO THE CHRISTMAS MARKET

Christmas markets, known locally as "Christkindlmärkte," are as much a part of South Tyrol as speck and the mountains. For this reason, you will find romantic Christmas markets in all towns, as well as in many larger and smaller villages, and even on some mountains from Advent until January, adding even more charm to this contemplative time. The Christmas markets on the Cathedral Square in Brixen and the Medieval Christmas in Klausen are particularly close to Alpenrose's.

MADE FOR IT

HOLIDAYS WITH CHILDREN

The Alpenrose's, Brixen, and the Eisack Valley are simply made for a family holiday. New friendships can be made on our playground, while a varied children’s program awaits on the Plose mountain, such as the "Woody Walk" adventure and theme trail, ski slopes, the Rudi Run – South Tyrol's longest toboggan run – and the "Plosebob" mountaincarts. The Acquarena adventure pool in Brixen is open year-round for splashing around and sliding fun.

FASCINATING EVENTS AND CULTURE

EVENTS IN BRIXEN AND THE SURROUNDING AREA

In summer, the bishop’s city of Brixen delights with its many events such as Dine, Wine & Music, the Summer Emotions, the Mountainbike Testival, the Brixen Dolomites Marathon, the IMS – International Mountain Summit, the sunrise hike every Friday on the Gabler, the Bread & Strudel Market... to name just a few – and of course, through the old town itself with its sights.
